Snow white and Cinderella came to visit… (10 Comments)

My girlfriend and her 8 year old twin daughters came to stay with us (from Halifax) for the weekend and I just got home from taking them to the airport.  We are always sad to say goodbye.

.

Now I need to decide if my children are truly brats, or if her children have stepped out of the pages of a Disney fairytale storybook.

.

I will let you decide.  Here is an example of our children’s behaviour:

.

Mine first.

.

If my kids want something, they may ask nicely for it, or they may not.  When they are denied, they complain, ask again, complain, ask, complain etc. until they get in trouble for being so annoying.

.

Her kids:

.

‘Mom, may we please turn on the television?’

‘No.’

‘Okay, thanks Mom!’ Then, they skip away to find something else to do.

.

I have a theory.  My girlfriend spent gazillions of dollars trying to get pregnant through in vitro.  Finally, thankfully, she did.

.

As soon as I decided that it might be a good time to get pregnant and my hubby winked at me, I conceived.  While I was trying to convince my hubby that it would be nice to have a fourth child, and he wasn’t yet on the same page, I conceived twins.

.

This brings me back to my very scientific, behavioural theory.  You get what you pay for.
